Here's our bike fleet. The mountain bikes are available to guests for free for excursions and trips in the surroundings.

The Sante Mariae road is not very busy and is suitable for both improvised and more experienced cyclists. The route to Arcille in the north and to Magliano in the south is one of the most popular with professional cyclists.

Reflective jackets and helmets are provided together with the bicycles as per safety regulations, in any case always be careful. The bicycle is the ideal means of transport for true nature lovers, for those who like to take beautiful photographs and for approaching wild animals.

True lovers of bicycle touring may be interested to know that the route of "The lower Ombrone valley" touches Poggio Cavallo passing through Istia d'Ombrone. The stages are as follows: CAMPAGNATICO - MARRUCHETI - ISTIA D'OMBRONE - ARCILLE - SANT'ANTONIO - PIANETTI - CAMPAGNATICO.

area: Hinterland hills - difficulty level: medium - terrain: tarmac - distance: 42,300 Km - altitude gain: 340 m

The route is a circular path around the last portion of the Ombrone valley, between the Amiata spurs and the city of Grosseto. The roads are not very busy and you only travel 3 km on Via Scansanese (S.P. 159), which is quite busy. The altitude gain in the first half of the route is notable but does not present particular difficulties. When managing your energy, consider that the final portion of the route requires fresh legs in order to tackle the last 4.5 km uphill without any problems. There are refreshment points in Campagnatico, Marrucheti, Istia d'Ombrone, Arcille and Sant'Antonio.

For more information visit cicloturismoinmaremma.it; you will find a route map and many other interesting routes in the vicinity of Poggio Cavallo, such as the Alberese Park route.
